The Power of Saying “NO”


In my early twenties, I struggled with trying to please people. When I was asked for a favor from someone or attended an event I really didn't want to go to, I honestly could not say, “NO”. I was always concerned about other people's feelings instead of my own.

After years of finding the power within myself, to understand it's okay to say, "NO". I felt less stressed and empowered towards my social assertiveness.

With the dissension in the Tennis World with reigning U.S. Open Champion Naomi Osaka (aka N.O.), has taken her stance to say, "NO" to protect her mental well-being from media interviews. Everyone may have their opinion on what she should or shouldn't do as an athlete or as a human being. However, it is her prerogative to protect her mental well-being at the end of the day. When she reflects on this controversy in the days and years to come, only Naomi can confirm she made the right decision to say, "NO".
