All Spiced Up!

Updated: Nov 28, 2020

There are a plethora of spices to explore and wake up a boring dish, improve mental and physical health, and to increase energy. What are the spices that create a special twist to our lives? These exotic spices from ancient Egyptian, Asian, and Indian cultures such as cardamom, paprika, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, and a host of other spices literally can spice up your life in more ways than one.

According to Web MD, spices fight inflammation and reduce damage to your body’s cells, “Because they’re so flavorful, they make it easier to cut back on less healthy ingredients like salt, sugar, and added fat,” “ Run to your pantry, grab your jar of this sweet spice, and start sprinkling — studies have shown that it may be a food to lower blood pressure." “There’s also some possibility that cinnamon might help with cholesterol levels, too,” Dr. Stephanie Dean says.

I am a spice lover and I enjoy cinnamon in my oatmeal, nutmeg in my peach cobbler, turmeric in my curry, and ginger powder to ignite my hot sip of tea. There are many other spices I use to create a "Spice Party" to my foods and boost my mood.

The key is not to be afraid to indulge in these array of exotic spices, but to enjoy the natural flavors they give to boost the flavor in your food, improve the quality of your life, and prosperous good health.
