As 2020 makes it's the sixth month of UNEXPECTED CHANGE! There are so many events taking and has taken place nationwide in our society. As we celebrate the End of Slavery on June 19, 1865, approximately 155 years ago. We must not forget the many lives of our ancestors and public leaders such as Martin Luther King, who paved the way for us to end inequality and discrimination with peace.
Moving forward we should also recognize and celebrate Juneteeth, by carrying the sacred torch of justice for all given to us by our unrelenting ancestors. Our passion should be ignited to ensure, the next generation will be resilient leaders, and a voice to make a difference in our community and the world. With the rebirth of the Civil Rights Movement, through Black Lives Matter we are not alone in our progress for change, because our brothers and sisters of other cultures stand with us for change in our society.
What I know for sure Juneteeth is a sacred time to give homage to our ancestors. Also to acknowledge the motto of Sankofa which is, reaching back to knowledge gained in the past and bringing it into the present in order to make positive progress. We must ALWAYS strive for progress!
Live DoVFree! And Justice for ALL!
